School of Computer and Information Engineering


School of Computer and Information Engineering was founded in 2000, and was formerly known as the Department of Electronics and Information Engineering. After 15 years of development, our school includes six undergraduate majors such as Computer Science and Technology, Network Engineering, Software Engineer, Electronic Information Engineering, Electronic Information Science and Technology and The Internet of Things Engineering. We have department of computer science and technology, department of electronic and information engineering, department of software engineering, department of network engineering and two experiment centers. Our school has three first-level disciplines, including computer science and technology, information and communication engineering, and software engineering; has a secondary discipline named computer application technology for master's degree authorization; and has a first-level discipline named computer science and technology for master's degree authorization.

The school has fifty-nine staffs at present, including seven professors, thirteen teachers with deputy senior professional titles, and eleven master's tutors. One teacher enjoys special government allowances of the State Council, and one teacher had received the award of The Famous Teacher among Universities of Tianjin. Nineteen teachers have doctor's degree, twenty-two teachers have master's degree in our school, and the ratio of teachers with doctor and master degree accounted for 70%.

The major research fields of our school include virtual reality technology, data warehouse and data mining, and Internet and communication technology.  And we are also committed to other research areas such as intelligent building, intelligent household, intelligent urban transportation, virtual reality technology of urban construction, computer network, data mining, data acquisition, data transmission, digital image processing, network robot, energy saving equipments. For years, the school cultivates large numbers of talents for industry of urban and rural construction and new high-tech enterprises, and our graduates distributes in various state-owned enterprises, public institutions, engaging in works such as design, technology development, application research and management. Some graduates have become technological or administrative backbones of their enterprises.
