Delegation of Meijo University Visited Tianjin Chengjian University

On the afternoon of March 25, 2015, Professor Shigeru, Vice President of Meijo University in Japan and Professor Katsu Kambin, Chairman of International Committee, and Okamoto Shinnyiti, Secretary of Internationalization Propelling Center, visited Tianjin Chengjian University. Professor Zhongxian Li, President of Tianjin Chengjian University, and Professor Jin Shi, Vice President of TCU met with the guests warmly. Officials of International Cooperation, Academic Affairs Office, School of Architecture and School of Civil Engineering attended the talk. Both sides made a deep discussion about cooperative modes of students exchange, cooperative educational programs, visiting scholars and joint training programs of postgraduate students and signed an agreement on students exchange.

Meijo University is a private university located in Nagoya,Aichi. It is the biggest comprehensive university in the middle of Japan. The university has 8 departments  and 22 disciplines and offers MA and PHD programmes in each discipline. There are more than 16,000 students.  In order to make the comprehensive university well  balanced in arts and science subjects effectively, Meijo University adopts the flexible mode which exceeds the limits of departments and is committed to cultivating agile, intelligent, problem-solving oriented talents.In 2014, Professor Isamu Akasaki and ex-Professor Amano Hiroshi won the Nobel Prize in Physics that year. In 2012, Tianjin Chengjian University was twinned with Meijo University. In October 2014, representatives from School of Civil Engineering visited Meijo University.
