School of Science


Schoolof Science is the secondary colleges of Tianjin Chengjian University. It hashigh foundation education teaching level, strong basic research and appliedbasic research competence, and it is an important cultivation base of science talentswith innovative spirit, high-level and high quality. The School of Science iscomposed of six departments, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, CAD and Engineering drawing division, Physics laboratory center and Chemistry laboratory center. Itundertakes the theory teaching and practice teaching work for the whole schoolstudents on mathematics, physical, chemistry and engineering graphics, and it has three undergraduate degree programs of Applied Chemistry, Applied Physicsand Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, master degree authorization center ofone first class discipline (Chemistry) and two sub disciplines (Environmental Materials and Technology).

Schoolof Science has a strong battalion of excellent and experienced teachers, andthere are 99 staff including 93 full-time teachers, 10 professors and 25associate professors. Among the full-times teachers, 55 teachers have the doctoratesand the percent reaches up to 56%. The number of the doctoral supervisor andmaster tutor is 8, and there are one expert enjoying the State Council SpecialAllowance, and 8 Tianjin “131”talents with the first, second and third levels.

Inrecent years, the teachers have implemented 37 projects from National NaturalScience Foundation, more than 30 projects from Province or Ministry and numbersof latitudinal projects severing the society, and they have published over 600papers in the domestic and international journals. Our college have rich experiences on the clean production technology for organic dyes and pigmentsand the key technology on the treatment of brine wastewater, and we have done alot of research on the fine chemicals, photo-catalytic and environmentalchemistry, fluorescence tracer application technology, design and preparation of fluorescent dyes and quantum dots, Electrical functional materials anddevices and operation science and control theory. And based on theseresearches, a lot of research achievements are obtained and distinctiveresearch characteristics are formed. In 2017, the TianjinEngineering Technology Centerof Chemical WastewaterSource Reduction and Recycling is approved for organization and construction byTianjin science and technology bureau. Besides, the Shandong Province Technology Center of Total Process Control on the clean production of organic pigmentdeclared by our college and Tianjin University is approved by Shandongprovincial department of science and technology. The two engineering technology centers will develop synergistically on the cleaning treatment and resourcerecycling of industry wastewater, and further improve the ability to sever thesociety. The whole college have applied more than 106 national patents, and morethan 56 of them have been authorized. Moreover, our college has won more than10 Tianjin scientific and technological progress awards including twofirst-prize.

The enrollment rate for the graduate in School of Science gradually increase yearby year, and some of them successfully admit to Tianjin University, LanzhouUniversity and University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Some graduates havegone to the international famous schools in America, England and Australia forfurther study. In recent three years, our college boasts an employment rate ofabove 90%.

Applied Chemistry

CultivationObjectives:Thismajor aims to cultivate senior complex applied talents with all-rounddevelopment of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, beauty and labor, highsense of social responsibility, good scientific and cultural literacy,systematic and solidly ability of chemical and chemical engineering basicknowledge, basic theory and basic skills, full of innovation consciousness andpractical ability to meet the needs of social development and economic construction,and to be able to engage in technology development, applied research productionmanagement, education and teaching work in areas like fine chemistry andchemical industry, resource recycling, environmental conservation, materialscience, medicine in scientific research institutions, enterprises andinstitutions in the fields of protection and materials science, medicine andother related disciplines.

CultivationRequirements:Studentsof this major should study the basic knowledge, the basic theory and basicskills of chemistry and chemical engineering and related disciplines, havecertain knowledge of mathematics, physics, humanities and social sciences. Theyreceive basic training of systematic scientific thought, scientific experimentsand applied research, have the ability to research and develop by the basicskills of theories and technical methods of chemistry and related disciplines.
