Introduction  

The School of Computer and Information Engineering, formerly the Department of Electronics and Information Engineering, was founded in 2000. After 19 years of construction and development, the School currently has 6 undergraduate Programs. In addition, the School has the academic master’s degree granting authority of the first-level discipline which is computer science and technology, and also has the professional master’s degree granting authority which is civil and water resources.  

   

The School has the well-structured academic echelon with outstanding teaching ability and excellent scientific research ability. At present, there are 52 professional teachers including 6 professors, 12 associate professors, 25 teachers with doctorate and 11 master tutors. In the past 5 years, they have undertaken and completed 4 national and nearly 30 provincial projects, and have won 3 science and technology innovation achievement awards. Besides, the School has also completed a lot of horizontal projects, published about 200 papers 80 of which were indexed and collected by SCI, EI,CSCD etc. and received about 90 national patents and software copyrights.

Discipline Characteristics  

The School has been devoted to the research in multiple fields, including communication technology, virtual reality technology, information security, computer network technology, control technology, big data and data mining technology, software engineering, building information technology and so on. And the School also focuses on international exchange and abroad high-quality education resource to play the role in aspects like personnel training, information exchange, and popularity increasing, social influence improvement of academic exchange. The School will vigorously promote foreign engineering project as well as encourage and support to bring in the high-level foreign experts to lift international level aspects about promoting teaching and research and personnel training. At the same time, the School has sent excellent young and middle-aged teachers to visit and learn abroad. In the process of cooperation with foreign high-level universities for teaching and researching, the international influence of theSchool is enlarged gradually. Over the years, theSchool has trained a large number of advanced application talents in urban construction and management for the urban and rural construction industry and the high-tech enterprises.  

   

Employment

The employment rate has been above 94% in the past three years.The graduates are located in enterprises and institutions throughout the country, and work in design, technology development, applied research, management and so on. Some graduates have become the technical backbone and leaders of their units. In short, the graduates are welcomed by the employing market, and the disciplines have a good employing market.
