School of Energy and Safety Engineering

Introduction    

School of Energy and Safety Engineering was established in 2012,  Department of Thermal Engineering as its predecessor was established in 1984. The program of Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering was established in 1978, which is one of the earliest programs of Tianjin Chengjian University.  

The school has over 50 faculties, including 9 professors, 21 associate professors, 20 lecturers and assistants, 1 Tianjin distinguished professor. Currently, the School has 1,490 full-time students, including 1,351undergraduates and 111 postgraduates.  

 

Cultivation Aim    

1. Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering follows the development of the industry, provides a large number of professional technical and scientific research talents in HVAC, air conditioning and urban gas engineering for the construction of Tianjin and surrounding cities.  

2. Energy and Power Engineeringaimsto cultivatestudents who master the basic professional knowledge in the field of energy and power engineering under the new training mode, have the concept of energy conservation and emission reduction, and the basic theoretical knowledge and engineering practice skills in urban energy supply and utilization, air conditioning and refrigeration, new energy engineering, etc.They can analyze and solve practical engineering problems independently in production, development, design, management and scientific research of energy and power engineering and related aspects.  

3. Safety Engineeringmainly educates engineers and managers. Students can take on design, management, research, testing, evaluation, monitoring, counseling and training in occupational health field and be engaged in the safety management technology of construction projects, municipal engineering and facilities, road and bridge engineering. After working for five years, the graduates will have the qualities and abilities of Certified Safety Engineer.

Discipline Characteristics    

Heating, Gas Supply, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Engineering    

(1)Building energy saving and renewable energy utilization technologymainly research building envelope thermal insulation technology,equipment system’s energy saving technology and energy efficiency evaluation,as well as renewable energyefficient utilization technology.  

(2)New technology about urban central heatingmainly focuses on building heating metering technology,central heating system’s pipe-network optimization and so on.  

(3)Building environment air pollution control and air-conditioning technologymainly research air pollution control technology,air cleaning unit’s research and development,cleaning air-conditioning system’s design and optimization,artificial climate environmental control technology,etc.  

(4)Gas transmission and Application Technologymainly study the optimization of urban gas network system, gas load prediction, control technology of urban gas network system, gas safety and reliability technology, pollution control and treatment, gas combustion and application technology, etc.  

(5)System automatic measurement and control technologyfocuses on the operation monitoring and control technology of refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment and system.  

 

Urban thermal energy engineering  

(1) Low-grade Thermal Energy Utilization Technologyfocuses on utilization of low-grade thermal energy, such as air energy, solar energy, geothermal energy, involving the basic theory and application technology of energy collection, storage, transmission, efficiency enhancement, etc.  Some of the research results are at the leading level in Tianjin and China.  

(2) Energy and Environment Engineering focuses on new technologies, processes and equipment for energy and resource utilization of solid waste. These researches have distinct characteristics, and some research resultsare at the leading level in China.  

(3) Refrigeration and Cryogenic Engineering is to study the working principle, system and component optimization, heat exchange mechanism, and optimization control of new energy-saving and environmentally friendly refrigeration and heat pump systems. We have prominent research on CO2 heat exchange mechanism, refrigeration system optimization control, gas heat pump and LNG cold energy utilization.  

Safety Engineering    

Safety Engineering has safety management and safety evaluation, construction safety, municipal engineering and facilities safety.Some research results are at the leading level in Tianjin.  

 

International Cooperation    

In 2017, Piotr rynkowski and Tomasz Janusz teleszewski, two professors in the field of heating, gas supply, ventilation and air conditioning in the school of civil and environmental engineering, Biawestock University of Technology, Poland, were invited to our school for a one month academic exchange.

Employment    

Most of our students enter the construction industry after graduation, and some of them go on for further education. In recent years, the employment quality of our students has steadily improved, and the employment rate has reached 92.31 percent.
