On July 10th, Professor Jin Yan and Doctor Sun Dan from Queen's University Belfast, the United Kingdom , visited Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU). TCU President Bai Haili, Vice President Wang Zhongliang met with the guests , Director and Dean of TCU International Cooperation Office and School of Control and Mechanical Engineering attended the meeting.
Bai Haili warmly welcomed the delegation. He introduced the development strategy of TCU in the next five years in the fields of high-level internationalization, smart campus, innovation and entrepreneurship, etc, and hoped that the two universities could further deepen scientific research cooperation, promote interdisciplinary innovation, actively construct the "5I Dimension·Rong System" (namely, integration, interaction, intelligence, interdiscipline and internationalization), form a comprehensive innovation system, and achieve collaborative development through interactive and mutual learning. Professor Jin Yan reviewed previous cooperation between the two universities and expressed high appreciation for the achievements of TCU in recent years. He hoped to further strengthen cooperation with TCU in the future, carry out joint graduate training and high-level talent exchange, and conduct various forms of academic and scientific research activities.
Founded in 1845, Queen's University Belfast is one of the oldest universities in the UK. Its teaching and scientific research level boasts a high reputation in the world. The university has 3 faculties, including Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, etc, and 18 schools. There are over 25,000 students on campus, including over 4,000 overseas students.
Professor Jin Yan is the Director of Internationalisation of School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast, and a member of the school management group. His research interest mainly focuses on parallel robots, robotics automation, etc. in aerospace. He has published over 130 peer-reviewed technical papers, and he is an associate editor of SCI journal Journal of Engineering Manufacture. Doctor Sun Dan is currently working in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast. She is the first Asian woman who has obtained tenure since the department was founded 104 years ago. Her research interest mainly includes the synthesis of novel multi-functional composite materials, and she has published more than 70 SCI papers. She is a registered chartered engineer with the Engineering Council UK and the Topic Editor for Frontiers in Materials.
