On December 12th, Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU) held Third Meeting of International School of Engineering (ISE) Joint Management Committee and Academic Committee with Bialystok University of Technology (BUT), Cracow University of Technology (CUT) of Poland via online and offline. TCU President Bai Haili, Vice President Wang Zhongliang, BUT Rector Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, Vice Rector Mirosław Świercz and Dorota Anna Krawczyk, CUT Rector Andrzej Szarata and ISE committee members attended the meeting.
All participants watched a short video presented by ISE to gain a comprehensive understanding of students’ study and life conditions at home and abroad. Huang Lingxiang, Dean of ISE, delivered a report on the school’s 2023 enrollment, disciplinary development, talent cultivation, and future development plan, etc. ISE committee members reviewed and unanimously approved issues related to the development of ISE.
In his speech, President Bai Haili reviewed the in-depth exchanges among the three universities over the past year, he conveyed his sincere gratitude to the rectors and committee members of BUT and CUT for their support, and emphasized that as a crucial component of TCU’s international education brand, ISE served as a significant driver in advancing the internationalization of education. He hoped that the three universities would continue to work together to run ISE effectively, further improve mechanism construction, jointly contribute to the sustainable development of ISE, establish a platform for mutual learning and collaborative construction between Chinese and Polish teachers, expand exchanges, visits, and resource sharing among three universities, thus creating a high-quality international exchange and cooperation system and building a new model for the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Rector Marta Kosor Kazberuk stated that over the past year, the two universities had gradually resumed visit and strengthened communication. The exchange of teachers to participate in teaching and management work has been conducive to promoting high-quality joint talent cultivation. She also expressed warm welcome for more TCU students to visit Poland for exchange and learning. She hoped that both sides would continue to deepen their collaboration in teaching and expand cooperation in various fields.
Rector Andrzej Szarata expressed that the three universities had taken advantage of the high-quality educational resources to jointly create high-quality cooperative education programs. The project has played a crucial role in cultivating composite applied talents with international perspective and are capable of leading global development. He expressed the willingness of CUT to further deepen consensus with TCU, explore new ideas and measures for cooperation between the two universities, and continuously enhance the breadth and depth of cooperation.
The Third Meeting of ISE Joint Management Committee and Academic Committee is an important step in implementing the long-term communication mechanism among TCU, BUT and CUT. This initiative has outlined important directions for consolidating cooperation achievements, improving communication mechanisms, and deepening cooperative relationships among the three universities. It has laid a solid foundation for ensuring the sustainable and stable operation of ISE and promoting the high-quality development of international exchanges for TCU.
The ISE at TCU has so far enrolled 4 intakes of undergraduate students and 3 intakes of graduate students. The school has a total of 1,043 students and more than 260 faculty and students have participated in on-site exchange and study programs at the two universities in Poland.
