From June 27th to July 3rd, President, Professor LI Zhongxian led a delegation to visit The University of Palermo (UNIPA) of Italy and De Montfort University (DMU) of the U.K. President LI signed Memorandum of Understanding with two universities on behalf of Tianjin Chengjian University and reached consensus on bachelor/master articulation programs, staff exchange, short-term/long-term exchange student programs and IPhD programs. President LI was accompanied by relevant representatives from the International Cooperation Office.
During his visit at UNIPA, President LI joined a meeting with Rector, Professor Fabrizio Micari and Vice Rector (International Affairs) Professor Ada Maria Forenaj of UNIPA. Two sides had in-depth discussions about strengthening scientific research cooperation and staff/student exchange and reached consensus. Two universities signed Memorandum of Understanding in the end. After the meeting, the delegation also visited Polytechnic School of UNIPA and heard introduction from the President of the School and visited its Environmental Engineering Lab, Materials Science Lab and Bioengineering Lab.

UNIPA is one of the most famous universities of Italy. It is a consolidated cultural, scientific and teaching presence in Palermo, Sicily. There are 5 Schools and 20 Departments offering 122 courses (first and second cycle) as well as 23 PhD courses.
During his visit at DMU, President LI joined a meeting with Interim Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Simon Oldroyd and Pro Vice-Chancellor Mr. Simon Bradbury of DMU. Two sides reached consensus on IPhD program, bachelor /master articulation programs and short-term/long-term exchange student programs. Two universities signed Memorandum of Understanding and Doctoral Training Program Agreement in the end. After the meeting, the delegation also met with relevant staff of Leicester School of Architecture, School of Humanities, School of Computer Science and Informatics, Faculty of Business and Law, and Global Strategy Centre. The delegation also visited Students’ Work Exhibition of Leicester School of Architecture and the Campus Law Hall, etc.
