Recently, the 2024 World Chinese Language Conference opened at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. The conference was hosted by Chinese Ministry of Education(MoE) and co-organized by Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC), Chinese International Education Foundation, and the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching. President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the conference and congratulated the Confucius Institute on the 20th anniversary of its establishment. Vice President Han Zheng attended the opening ceremony of the conference, read out President Xi Jinping’s congratulatory letter and delivered a speech. Themed Interconnection, Integration, Inheritance, Innovation, the 2024 World Chinese Language Conference brought together 2,000 participants, including government officials, school principals, experts, scholars, representatives of teachers and students, and diplomatic envoys from more than 160 countries and regions. Yang Jing, Vice President of Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU), attended the conference and chaired a seminar on Digital Intelligence Empowers the Internationalization of “Chinese + Technical and Vocational Education and Training(TVET)” Education.


During the conference, Yang Jing participated in the Symposium on“ Chinese + TVET ”Education. Themed New Era and New Opportunities: Promote High-Quality Development of "Chinese+TVET”Education, the symposium was hosted by CLEC of MoE, and co-organized by Chinese Plus, Continental Han Feng Network Technology (Beijing) Co. Ltd, Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology, and Beijing Polytechnic College.

Yang Jing was invited to host the seminar on Digital Intelligence Empowers the Internationalization of “ Chinese + TVET ” Education. With the tittle of Innovating Development Mechanisms and Utilizing Comparative Advantages to Achieve Win-win Cooperation, she introduced the international education and international cooperation of TCU, focusing on the approach of building platforms, establishing bases, emphasizing innovation and promoting mutual learning in the field of internationalization. She also exchanged ideas with the guests on topics such as Development of Digital Resources for “ Chinese + TVET ” Education and Best Practices of Innovative School-Enterprise Cooperation of “Chinese + TVET” Education, jointly exploring methods to better promote the international development of “ Chinese + TVET ” education.
In recent years, TCU has actively served the national development strategy and the new phase of major country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics, explored the open and win-win cooperation mode of “bringing in” and “going out”, and is committed to cultivating international talents with "integration of Chinese and western cultures, global vision, and patriotism", and continuously constructing the "international education" brand of TCU. Since the beginning of international exchange work in 2011, TCU has connected with overseas high-quality educational resources, explored new paths for international education, actively integrated into the international industry-university-research collaborative innovation system, continuously improved the internationalization level of education, and expanded new platforms for high-level featured development. TCU has deepened cooperation with universities along the Belt and Road and has been approved national international cooperation programs, including Chinese-Danish cooperatively-run program, Chinese-Polish cooperatively-run institution, and Pakistan overseas education project. It has jointly built the Tajikistan Luban Workshop - the first Luban workshop in central Asia. More than 1600 teachers and students participate in various international exchange and cooperation programs annually. TCU continues to explore international exchange and cooperation resources, expands its global cooperation network, and has established partnership with world-renowned universities such as the University of Malaya in Malaysia, University College Dublin in Ireland, and the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. These efforts enhance its international reputation, cultivate the environment for international cooperation, and contribute to building a community of shared culture, interests, destiny, and responsibility.
In the future, TCU will continue to promote high-level opening up, actively explore new directions for cooperation in China with top-tier universities in science and technology, promote the construction of an innovative talent cultivation system. TCU will adhere to an international education model with distinctive characteristics and integrated development, optimize the layout of disciplines, focus on improving quality and efficiency, implement the international talent cultivation concept of “strong foundation, broad scope, cross disciplines, and practical orientation”. TCU will give full play to international development to support the construction of a high level institution featuring urban construction, to serve the needs of China's economic and social development as well as industrial transformation and upgrading. TCU aims to contribute to the high-level international openness of higher education in Tianjin and strengthen the university’s role in supporting China’s diplomatic strategies.
