
Recently, a delegation headed by Vice President Piao Xuehao of Hoseo University from South Korea visited Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU). Liu Zhongxian, Vice President of TCU, received the delegation. Personnel from the International Cooperation Office, School of Computer and Information Engineering, School of Control and Mechanical Engineering, School of Urban Art, and School of International Education were present at the meeting. Liu Zhongxian extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation. He briefly introduced the guests on the university's academic programs, disciplinary strengths, talent recruitment and cultivation, research achievements, and its progress in international exchanges. He noted that the sound bilateral relations and long-standing friendship between China and the Republic of South Korea have provided favorable conditions for cooperation between the two universities. He expressed the hope that, building on the signed Memorandum of Understanding, the two sides would steadily deepen practical cooperation in joint talent cultivation, faculty and student exchange, collaborative research and innovation, as well as cultural exchange.
Piao Xuehao spoke highly of the positive progress achieved in bilateral cooperation between the two universities and gave an overview of Hoseo University’s distinctive characteristics and disciplinary strengths.. He stated that Hoseo University boasts prominent strengths in science and engineering, with notable expertise in semiconductors, artificial intelligence, mechanical engineering, and design, fields that align closely with the disciplinary setup and strengths of our university. He expressed anticipation that both sides will explore new models for cooperative education and industry-university-research cooperation, so as to promote more fruitful outcomes from the partnership between the two universities.

Following the meeting, the two sides held a signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding, marking the official launch of a new chapter in bilateral cooperation between the two universities.

In the subsequent working meeting, representatives from both sides conducted in-depth discussions on disciplinary and program mapping, curriculum system integration, joint talent training modes, and long-term and short-term faculty and student exchange programs. Preliminary consensus was reached on launching cooperative education programs in artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing and environmental design.
During the visit, the delegation toured School of Computer and Information Engineering, School of Control and Mechanical Engineering, School of Urban Art, School of International Education, and Engineering Training Center. By visiting various laboratories and teaching facilities, the group gained an in-depth insight into the university's teaching characteristics and infrastructure conditions.

This visit by Hoseo University marks an important milestone for both universities in deepening mutual trust and consolidating cooperation. It also represents a significant step forward in TCU’s internationalization drive and the optimization of its global partnership network. Moving forward, using this visit as a valuable opportunity, TCU will adhere to the principles of mutual benefit, win-win results and complementary advantages. Based on the disciplinary strengths of both sides, the university will expand diversified cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research innovation and industry-university-research integration, and jointly build a high-quality international education cooperation platform to facilitate the high-quality development of international education for both universities.
