On November 30th, Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU) held Second Meeting of International School of Engineering (ISE)Joint Management Committee and Academic Committee with Bialystok University of Technology (BUT), Cracow University of Technology (CUT) of Poland via a virtual meeting. TCU President BAI Haili, Vice President WANG Zhongliang, BUT Rector Marta KOSIOR-KAZBERUK, Vice Rector Dorota Anna KRAWCZYK, CUT Rector Andrzej BIALKIEWICZ and ISE committee members attended the meeting.
All participants firstly watched a short video “My Study and Life at ISE” presented by ISE students. ISE Dean HUANG Lingxiang then reported on ISE overall operation in the past year, school features and future development, etc.
TCU President, Chairman of ISE Joint Management Committee spoke highly of the progress ISE has made in the past year and expressed his gratitude for the long-term support of the two cooperating universities in Poland. He stressed that this meeting is a meeting of unity and consensus, as well as an important opportunity to discuss future development. He hoped the three parties could acknowledge the current situation with both opportunities and challenges for Sino-foreign cooperative education, strengthen collaboration, improve overall school level, and dedicate to the healthy and sustainable development of ISE with more efficient and long-term work plan, constantly improving the competitiveness and social influence of ISE and thus contributing to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
BUT Rector, member of ISE Joint Management Committee Marta KOSIOR-KAZBERUK mentioned she was pleased to see the development and progress of ISE, and that despite current difficulties and challenges, the determination of the three parties to work together and overcome these difficulties had led to the steady development of the school. She expected ISE, as a role model, could cultivate more outstanding international talents in the future with joint efforts from the three parties.
CUT Rector Andrzej BIALKIEWICZ, underlined that in the past year, the administrative and teaching staff of the three parties had made hard efforts in the construction and teaching management of ISE, gained rich experience in international education, and had established efficient platform for communications. He hoped ISE could play a crucial role in cultivating high-quality international talents who are capable to lead development of the world under concerted efforts from the three parties in the future.
The International School of Engineering at Tianjin Chengjian University currently has nearly 800 students, including nearly 700 undergraduates and more than 100 postgraduate students. In 2021, the three universities held the first meeting of ISE Joint Management Committee and Academic Committee, which clarified cooperation details among the three universities, providing a guarantee for introducing high-quality education resources from Poland and improving the quality of cooperative education. The Second Meeting of Joint Management Committee and Academic Committee constituted an important measure to implement the long-term communication mechanism between TCU and the two Polish universities. The meeting guided through further cooperation among the three parties and laid the foundation for high-quality development of ISE.
