Recently, a delegation from International Company of China Railway 18 Bureau Group Co., Ltd.(CRCC18), including  Safety Director Rao Chengjin,  and Chairman of Dubai Company Wang Xin visited  Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU) at our university’s invitation.  TCU President  Wang Zhongliang and Vice President  Yang Jing  warmly  welcomed the guests and held  meeting with them. Director of President’s Office,  Director of International Cooperation Office, Director of Science and Technology  Office, and teacher representatives from relevant  schools attended the meeting.

Yang Jing extended a warm welcome to the delegation and provided an overview of TCU, including its history, talent cultivation, Chinese-foreign cooperative education and faculty development. She stated that International Company of CRCC18 had been deeply involved in the construction sector and actively served  the Belt and Road construction, representing  a typical  case of Chinese enterprises going global and showcasing the strength and international influence of China  construction. The university  saw profound potential for  university-enterprise collaboration with International Company of CRCC18 and hoped to jointly  establish  technology transfer platforms  and overseas internship opportunities  for students, deepening  collaborative innovation and joint talent cultivation.  The attendees watched  the promotional video  of TCU, gaining a deeper understanding of the institution’ s  educational  features.

 Rao Chengjin and Wang Xin introduced respectively the development background, corporate culture, key achievements, major business areas, ongoing projects and typical project cases of International Company of CRCC18 and the Dubai Company. They highlighted the alignment between the university’s strengths in technological innovation and talent cultivation and the development needs of International Company of CRCC18. They expressed the hope for the two parties to further enhance cooperation, give full play to the respective resource advantages of university and state-owned enterprise, jointly explore new models and paths for industry-university-research cooperation, continue to deepen the cooperation and carry out more quality and practical cooperation between university and enterprise in more fields, contributing to the technological innovation and high-quality development of the construction industry.
Liu Zhongxian, Director of the Science and Technology Office of TCU, Professor Ronghui from TCU School of Materials Science and Engineering, Associate Professor Lang Ruiqing from TCU School of Civil Engineering, engaged in in-depth discussions with Yang Haifu, senior engineer of the engineering department from the International Company of CRCC18 on cutting-edge technologies such as super high-rise buildings and concrete repair, etc, and reached a consensus on collaborative research, technological integration and practical transformation, and joint application for high-level architectural awards, etc. 

Wang Zhongliang welcomed Rao Chengjin and his delegation’s visit to TCU for exchange and discussions on cooperation and development. He stated  that through the talks, he had  gained  a comprehensive understanding of the major overseas projects of  the  International Company of CRCC18 as well as its responsibility and outstanding contributions in the international market.  He expected that both parties would  jointly implement the national requirements for the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talents in the future, jointly promote technological innovation and the cultivation of high-level and highly skilled talents  based on  the respective advantages  of both parties, innovate the "project  plus  team" cooperation model, and establish a  regular  scientific research  collaboration communication  mechanism, and jointly create and share  high-level scientific research results. He also expressed the hope for the two parties to  give full play to the coordination between  universityand enterprise, promote the  efficient  integration of enterprise technology needs and  faculty’s  scientific and technological achievements, actively explore new paths for  deep collaborative integration of higher education and industry  practices  to  nurture high-quality talent that supports the win-win cooperation between the university and  enterprises .

This  visit  is an active practice of TCU to further implement the national educational policies and to  actively promote high-level opening up  in  education,  and it is also an  important result and achievement  of  TCU’s visit to the United Arab Emirates. In the future,  TCU will take this visit as an opportunity to contin uously  deepen cooperation between the two parties,  enhance resource sharing,  complement each other’s resources and  build an integrated international industry-academia-research platform. This will provide students with more international exchange and practical opportunities, actively cultivating high-level talent in the construction sector with an international perspective, further enhancing the university’s education al  internationalization, and contributing to Tianjin’s high-quality development.
