Tianjin Chengjian University Held Fifth Meeting of International School of Engineering Joint Management Committee and Academic Committee

On January 9th, Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU) held the Fifth Meeting of International School of Engineering (ISE) Joint Management Committee and Academic Committee with Bialystok University of Technology (BUT), Cracow University of Technology (CUT) of Poland. Attending the meeting were TCU President Wang Zhongliang, Vice President Yang Jing, BUT Rector Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, Vice Rector Mirosław Świercz,Vice Rector Dorota Anna Krawczyk, CUT Rector Andrzej Szarata as well as other members of the ISE committee.

All participants viewed the ISE promotional video Promoting Cooperation, Embarking on a New Journey. Huang Lingxiang, Dean of ISE,delivered a comprehensive report covering the schools 2025 enrollment progress, teaching operations, student activity highlights, and key 2026 work plans.

Subsequently, the university president and rectors took the floor to share their insights and visions for ISEs future development.

Marta Kosior Kazberuk, Rector of BUT, spoke highly of the in-depth collaboration  achieved by the three universities at ISE. She expressed sincere gratitude to the faculty members from all three institutions for their dedicated efforts and also emphasized her hope to further deepen scientific research cooperation with TCU. Additionally, she voiced aspirations to actively explore more innovative and effective collaboration models, work together to advance in-depth exchanges and cooperation in higher education between China and Poland.

Andrzej Szarata, Rector of CUT, stated that ISE had emerged as a landmark achievement in China-Poland educational cooperation, playing a leading and exemplary role. He expressed his hope to further expand educational exchanges with Tianjin Chengjian University in the fields of intelligent manufacturing and smart transportation under the existing cooperative framework, aiming to cultivate high-quality collaborative projects that meet the needs of industry and social development.

Wang Zhongliang, President of TCU, Chairman of ISE Joint Management Committee and Academic Committee, extended heartfelt gratitude to the Rectors and committee members of the two Polish universities for their consistent and steadfast support. He underlined that ISE has achieved increasingly fruitful results, with the depth and breadth of cooperation among the three universities continuously expanding, laying solid foundation for the school’s long-term sustainable development. He expressed his hope that through the joint efforts of all three parties, a new integrated  “teaching-research-innovation” development model will be built, a multi-level and multi-dimensional cooperative network will be expanded, and a more resilient cross-cultural educational community will be established, thereby driving the school toward higher-quality and more sustainable development.

To date, ISE has enrolled 6 intakes of undergraduate students and 5 intakes of graduate students, totaling 1,068 students. Over 625 faculty members and students have participated in on-site exchange and study programs in Poland. For the 2025 graduating class, 182 students obtained dual degrees from China and Poland, while 38 students were admitted to world-top universities including Columbia University, the University of Pennsylvania, University College London, and the University of California, Berkeley. These outcomes fully demonstrate the outstanding effectiveness of the Chinese-foreign cooperative education model in cultivating internationally competitive talents. Against this background, the fifth meeting of the Joint Management Committee and Academic Committee was held as a crucial measure to enhance the regular communication efficiency among three universities. It will further consolidate the tripartite cooperative relationship and expand collaborative fields. Taking this meeting as an opportunity, the three parties will continue to improve coordination mechanism, build consensus on development, and further develop ISE into a model of excellence in Chinese-foreign cooperative education. In doing so, it will contribute to cultivating more outstanding international engineering talents capable of meeting the future development needs of both countries.
