On December 8th, the signing ceremony on Memorandum of Understanding was held online between Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU) and Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (PAF-IAST) of Pakistan. TCU President BAI Haili, Vice President WANG Zhongliang, Vice President CHEN Zhihua met with PAF-IAST Rector Mohammad Mujahid, Directors and Deans of two universities attended the meeting and witnessed the virtual signing ceremony.

Two universities introduced their recent development and features. Mohammad Mujahid mentioned PAF-IAST is one of the key projects supported by the Prime Minister of Pakistan. He hoped that two universities could acknowledge the positive role of the Memorandum of Understanding in paving the way for talent cultivation and research collaborations, and promote the cooperation between two universities to achieve practical results.

BAI Haili hoped through the cooperation between two universities, TCU could meet the needs of national strategies, and cooperate with PAF-IAST in student joint training, innovation and entrepreneurship, industry-education integration, and so on, through making full use of the featured disciplines, so as to cultivate more international talents with professional knowledge, who understand China and befriend China, serve the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and help to build an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.

Later on, two universities reached consensus for future cooperation through signing the agreement.
Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology is the first university led by the National Development and Reform Commissions of China and Pakistan, jointly established by China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Office and the China International Development and Cooperation Agency along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor in response to the meeting held between the leaders of the two countries. The university is aimed to improve technical education in Pakistan and to boost the country's high-tech industry. In the future, TCU School of International Education will carry out in-depth cooperation with PAF-IAST in the areas of joint training of international students, long-term and short-term students exchange and international Chinese communications.
