In order to promote people-to-people exchange in the new era between China and Malaysia, and to strengthen cooperation between Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU) and University of Malaya (UM), Professor Johnson Alengaram from UM School of Engineering was invited to give a keynote lecture entitled “Demonstration of low-carbon footprint materials used in the first cement-free geopolymer concrete house constructed in University of Malaya campus for bus drivers” to TCU teachers and students in the morning of December 29th. The lecture was hosted by Professor LV Yang, Vice Dean of TCU School of Civil Engineering. Dr. Mohd Usman Mohd Junaidi, Vice Dean of UM School of Engineering and more than 40 teachers and students from TCU participated online.

Taking sustainable building materials as the starting point, Professor Johnson Alengaram gave a systematic and comprehensive analysis on the innovative building technology concept of UM. He introduced his team's advanced application experience in building the first cement free geopolymer concrete house in Malaysia by using sustainable environmentally friendly materials and advanced building methods, and shared the advantages and achievements of low-carbon building systems and sustainable building materials in environmental, economic, and social aspects.
