On October 20th, the Silk Road International Conference on Architecture and Technology, hosted by Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology themed “Building a Better Home for All” was held in Xi'an. At the meeting, 45 universities from 23 countries along the Silk Road initiated the establishment of the Silk Road International Alliance of Architectural and Technological Universities (SRIAATU). Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU), as one of the inaugural members, joined the alliance, and Vice President Wang Zhongliang was invited to participate in the alliance’s establishment and award ceremony.

Adhering to the Silk Road spirit of “peaceful cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit”, SRIAATU follows the philosophy of “development first, universal inclusiveness and innovation-driven growth”. Based on the different national conditions of countries along the Silk Road, and focusing on key areas such as architecture and technology innovation, human settlements, talent training, industry-academia-research collaboration, and innovative preservation of traditional culture, etc. SRIAATU aims to strengthen inter-university exchanges, carry out talent cultivation, scientific research cooperation, cultural exchange, policy research, and social services, and collectively contribute to building a better home for humanity. Under the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI), SRIAATU will emerge as a hub for architectural technology knowledge, information exchange, and talent cultivation through resource sharing, technological collaboration, and personnel exchange along the Silk Road.
Joining the SRIAATU is a significant step for our university to actively respond to the BRI, which will enhance our collaboration in scientific research and international exchanges with architectural universities in countries along the Silk Road. In the future, following the “Xi’an Consensus” of the alliance, TCU will give full play to its academic resources and distinctive features, align with the BRI, explore new opportunities for serving the urban and rural construction of countries along the Belt and Road. This commitment reflects TCU’s dedication to enhancing the well-being of people residing along the Silk Road, fostering the prosperity of the Silk Road, and promoting exchanges and integration of world civilizations.
