On June 18th, a delegation from Bialystok University of Technology (BUT) in Poland, consisting of Prof. Katarzyna Zabielska-Adamska from Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences, Ms. Grażyna Jakimiuk, Interim Head of International Relations Office, and Prof. Dariusz Andraka from Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences, visited Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU). Yang Jing, Member of Standing Committee of the TCU Council and Vice President, met with the guests. Director of International Cooperation Office and Deans of School of Computer and Information Engineering, School of Control and Mechanical Engineering, and International School of Engineering (ISE) attended the meeting.

Yang Jing warmly welcomed the delegation and stated that BUT was one of the first foreign universities to establish inter school cooperation with TCU, and the first partner of TCU in Poland. The two universities had established a strong foundation for collaboration and jointly established ISE, actively engaged in cultural exchanges and scientific research cooperation, and steadily advanced the development of joint faculty teams and talent training programs. This year, ISE would welcome its first batch of graduates. She hoped that in the future, the two sides would further expand the fields of cooperative education and promote coordinated development between two institutions. The delegation expressed gratitude for the warm reception and noted that continuous cooperation, exchange and mutual visits had solidified the foundation of collaboration and exchange between two universities and fostered profound friendship. They hoped to further deepen inter school exchanges in the future, expand more areas and forms of cooperation based on ISE, and build a high-quality platform for faculty and student exchanges.

Later on, the two sides engaged in in-depth communications and reached consensus on several issues, including joint master’s degree programs in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and electronic communications engineering, faculty visits, short-term student exchanges, doctoral pathway programs, scientific research cooperation, and invitation to participate in the 2024 Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium Conference & Forum, etc.
After the meeting, the delegation visited TCU School of Computer and Information Engineering, School of Control and Mechanical Engineering, and ISE, gaining an in-depth understanding of the features of relevant programs and the achievements in artificial intelligence.

Founded in 1949, BUT is the largest comprehensive university in northeastern Poland. The university consists of 6 faculties, including the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Faculty of Architecture, etc. The university offers doctoral degrees in 8 disciplines, including Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electronics, etc. Many of its researchers are members of various scientific committees of the Polish Academy of Sciences and renowned international expert associations.
TCU signed MoU with BUT in 2013, officially establishing partnership. Since then, two universities have successively carried out joint bachelor’s and master's degree programs, Erasmus+ Program, Chinese-foreign cooperative institution, and short-term student exchange program, etc. Over 200 faculty and students have participated in exchange programs between two universities, with 11 individuals having received funding from Erasmus+ Program supported by European Union. BUT is also the foreign partner institution with which TCU has exchanged the highest number of faculty and students.
The visit of the delegation from BUT is of great significance for further deepening mutual understanding and exploring new paths of cooperation between the two universities. It plays a positive role in connecting international cooperation resources for relevant programs and enhancing the level of educational internationalization. Moving forward, the two universities will actively implement relevant disciplinary cooperation based on this meeting, further improve the quality of joint talent training, and taking the cooperation between the two institutions to new heights.
