Recently, Yan Bing, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Council and Vice President of Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU), led a delegation to visit Tajik Technical University. The delegation held talks with the Rector of Tajik Technical University, Kudrat Davlatzoda and participated in the 3rd China-Tajikistan Vocational Education Forum. The forum was attended by Ji Shumin, Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan; Muzaffarzoda, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Tajikistan; Liu Liming, President of the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE); Fu Bo, Deputy Secretary-General of CEAIE; Luo Yanan, Member of the Education Commission of Tianjin Municipal Committee and Deputy Director of the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission; as well as representatives from universities and enterprises of both countries.
During the forum, Yan Bing delivered a keynote speech titled Digital Intelligence Lays the Foundation, Green Innovation Shapes the Core: Trends in the Development of Civil Engineering and Architecture Talent Cultivation. Centered on the development trends in talent cultivation for civil engineering and architecture, he shared TCU’s exploration and practical experience in the construction of emerging engineering disciplines, prefabricated construction, and civil engineering education. He also engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges with experts and scholars from the education and industry sectors of China and Tajikistan. Together with Rector Davlatzoda, he presented admission letters to eight Tajik students from the Geomatics Engineering program at the Luban Workshop, who will begin their studies at TCU in 2025.
During the visit, Yan Bing held talks with Rector Davlatzoda to discuss about expanding cooperation in scientific research and technological innovation, building a comprehensive, multi-dimensional, and in-depth collaborative framework, and establishing an International Chinese Language Training Center based on the Luban Workshop. Both sides reached preliminary consensus. Additionally, Yan Bing held discussions with representatives of partner enterprises from the Luban Workshop to listen to their suggestions on the operation and development of the workshop, talent cultivation, and industry-education integration.
In 2023, Tianjin Chengjian University, Tajik Technical University, and Tianjin Urban Construction Management & Vocational Technology College officially signed a joint training agreement for the Luban Workshop, aiming to establish an international talent cultivation mode integrating vocational, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Currently, seven students from Tajik Technical University who participated in Luban Workshop training are pursuing bachelor's degrees in Surveying and Mapping Engineering at TCU, and one student is pursuing master's degree in Civil and Hydraulic Engineering.
This visit represented a significant move by TCU to implement the “China–Central Asia Spirit” and promote China–Central Asia educational cooperation. It demonstrated the university’s firm commitment to expanding educational opening-up, aligning with the Belt and Road Initiative, and advancing global strategic partnerships. It also marked an important step in enhancing the university’s level of international cooperation, developing high-level international collaboration projects, continuously promoting the “Chinese +” curriculum system for international students, and elevating the “Study at Chengjian” brand. Looking ahead, the university will seize the opportunity under the Belt and Road Initiative to further develop a pragmatic, efficient, and deeply integrated cooperation framework, optimize educational collaboration networks in Central Asia and jointly promote innovation in talent cultivation and industry-education integration, thus contributing wisdom and strength to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
