Recently, a delegation from Charles Darwin University (CDU) extended a visit to Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU). Vice President Yang Jing warmly welcomed the guests. Representatives from the International Cooperation Office and the School of Computer and Information Engineering participated in the meeting.
Yang Jing extended a cordial welcome to the delegation and provided a concise introduction to TCU’s academic structure, distinctive characteristics, and international cooperation. She asserted that the two universities boasted highly compatible academic programs and disciplinary advantages, and expressed the hope that this visit would serve as an occasion to enhance mutual understanding, build consensus, and promote practical cooperation in domains such as joint talent cultivation and exchanges of faculty and students. Dr. Adam Lam, CDU Global Director, expressed gratitude for the warm reception. He emphasized the significance of fully identifying the unique strengths of both institutions to explore more extensive areas of collaboration and jointly expand new avenues for cooperative education and international talent cultivation.
Representatives from the International Cooperation Office and the School of Computer and Information Engineering engaged in in-depth discussions with the delegation regarding talent cultivation, faculty and student mobility, and research collaboration. Both sides examined their respective national policies on education opening-up, and carried out detailed exchanges on curriculum mapping, as well as short-term and long-term exchange programs. A preliminary consensus was reached on developing joint student training programs in fields such as Computer Science and Technology and Artificial Intelligence.
Founded in 1950, Charles Darwin University stands as the sole public research university in Australia’s Northern Territory. It holds the 584th position in the 2026 QS World University Rankings. The university comprises Faculty of Arts and Society, Faculty of Health, Faculty of Science and Technology, and CDU TAFE. It offers a comprehensive range of programs spanning from vocational education to doctoral degrees. Its engineering programs have received EUR-ACE accreditation, and its information technology programs are accredited by the Australian Computer Society.
This visit has further broadened TCU’s cooperation channels with Australian institutions, strengthened mutual understanding between the two universities, and laid a solid foundation for deeper collaboration. Going forward, TCU will seize this visit as an opportunity to further explore in-depth cooperation with Charles Darwin University in talent cultivation and scientific research, promote substantial progress in joint education programs in computer-related disciplines, facilitate the sharing of high-quality educational resources, and continuously elevate the university’s internationalization level and global influence.
