School of Marxism, founded in November2016, provides ideological and political theory courses and relevant humanity foundation courses for students of graduate and postgraduate students. The School is composed of 7 units, 4 teaching and research sections, 2 research institutes and 1 administration office.

The School has 39 full-time and part-time faculties and staff. Among 22 full-time teaching staff, 5 have been awarded the senior academic title of professor, 11 with the title of associate professor, and 13 have doctor's degree.

In recent five years, in respect of teaching reform, the School has been continuously exploring the construction of teaching system of ideological and theoretical courses suitable for science and engineering students, and improving the informatization and intelligentization of classroom instruction. In addition,the School has got fruitful achievements, including 1 second prize, 2 third prizes in Municipal-level teaching contests. And 14 third prizes or above in university-level teaching contests.

In terms of research, the School has been integrating Marxist theories with urban construction culture, refining research directions, and highlighting research characteristics. In recent years, the teaching staff has published 83 academic papers, among which 45 papers are at advanced levels, 8 monographs and 1 translated work. Meanwhile, they have accomplished 26 projects, with 1 at national level, 17 at provincial level and 1 awarded with third prize of TianjinMunicipal Social Science Excellent Achievement.
