On the afternoon of April 17th, Shi Qingwei, Chairman of the Tianjin Chengjian University(TCU) Council, came to the one-stop student community of Jianyuan Academy and had a discussion with student representatives. The conversation mainly revolved around the theme of how college student representatives could play an examplary role, discussing missions and ideals, offering suggestions and addresing concerns. Sha Li, Director of the TCU Organization Office, and Wang Jian, Director of the TCU Student Affairs Office, attended the meeting.
In a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, students shared their experiences during their time at TCU, including student work, scientific research and innovation, teaching in Xinjiang, studying abroad in Poland, volunteer services, and participating in the national flag guard team. They discussed their growth and development and how they can influence and lead those around them effectively. During the communication and interaction, the students also sought guidance and assistance on their career choices, career planning, and grassroots services, and put forward suggestions on campus safety management and the construction of the one-stop student community --Jianyuan Academy, etc. Chairman Shi Qingwei listened carefully to each student's speech and provided patient guidance and answers to their questions and suggestions. The atmosphere on site was lively, with frequent interactions, occasional laughters, and warm applauses.
In his speech, Chairman Shi Qingwei highly praised the excellent performance and achievements of the students in various aspects, and expressed three earnest hopes for them: firstly, to be firmly committed to the country and build a solid foundation of faith. He hoped them to cultivate a strong sense of patriotism and maintain a firm belief in the country, align their personal growth with the future and destiny of the country, keep step with and strive in the same direction with the motherland. Secondly, to uphold their righteousness, refine and cultivate themselves, to strive to be pioneers and role models in daily studies, scientific research innovation, and volunteer services, and to cultivate and maintain a high spirit to continuously enhance their appeal and influence among students. Thirdly, he encouraged them to improve skills and bravely shoulder missions and responsibilities, strive to master professional knowledge, improve core abilities, actively engage in the great practice of the new era, contributing youth wisdom and energy to the development of new productive forces.
After the discussion, the students expressed that face-to-face communication with Chairman Shi was very inspiring and beneficial. They would also convey the care and concern from TCU leadership and the main content of the discussion to their peers, encouraging more students to set an example and make contributions to the high-quality development of TCU.
This visit by school leadership to meet with students face-to-face and discuss about the role of college student representatives, their ideals, their growth and development, further allowed the students to feel the care and support of TCU. It also strengthened the sense of responsibilities and shared goals among the student representatives.
